of all the crap happening nowadays that is Philippine politics, i can only wish that a leader like HIM would be able to inspire our people as much as i think he is doing so to the american people.

i am a sucker for great speeches and articles. that's the reason why i so love conrado de quiros eventhough a lot of people hate him. he may be a cynic, he's always kontra but he makes me think. he makes me tick. he invokes in me feelings, no writer could ever do. he always sums up his articles with great final sentences.

when i read bianca gonzales' most recent blog entry (she talked about a different speech), i googled its subject and came upon barack obama's new hampshire campaign speech. it was so amazing, it almost brought me to tears.

"...there has never been anything false about hope. For when we have faced down impossible odds; when we've been told that we're not ready, or that we shouldn't try, or that we can't, generations of Americans have responded with a simple creed that sums up the spirit of a people. Yes we can."

the election is not yet over. people may doubt his capabilities but you can never come up with these words unless you mean it. you can never affect people unless what you say truly comes from your heart. good speakers may not always do what they say. but history's greatest speakers/writers always lived up to and died for what they said/wrote. abraham lincoln. martin luther king. jose rizal. ramon magsaysay. take it from that.
